From 2016 until 2019, Random Institute ran the curatorial program of the international contemporary art center Despacio in San José, Costa Rica.

Ein naiver Versuch, hoffnungslose TV-Kinder im Erwachsenenalter zu überzeugen, anstelle des unumstösslichen Tatort Sonntagabend, ein Abend mit Fernfahrer auf der Autobahnraststätte zu erleben. Für dieses musikalische Abenteuer kam vor allem einer in Frage. Abu, der Schlaflose, der musikalisch konsequent den Mainstream austrickst und am Gurten Festival, wie auf der Raststätte Grauholz sich sichtlich zu Hause fühlt.
ThoughtsThoughtsABU, the singer, is urgent, intense, feverish and uncompromisingly honest. The voice rasps itself deep into the desert sand, it scrapes on human abysses, cries out with despair like few voices have done since Cobain, brutally direct and not afraid of setbacks. The anger and grief over inabilities surges through ABU' s soul like a wild flood, it rages off and vanishes on the horizon in the spherical soundscapes of this great album.
He lives in a small Japanese car of green color and run by a coughing engine. At night, he struggles with his instruments. In a basement, for years now. In the daytime, he endures his insomnia.
